What to Expect at Worship

We are a Church of both Word and Sacrament, and we believe that both of these elements – hearing God’s Word and receiving his grace in communion – are essential pieces of our worship services.

Therefore, our worship is divided into two major parts, the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist. The Liturgy of the Word includes prayer, Bible readings, the sermon, and the Creed. The Liturgy of the Eucharist focuses on the sacred meal that Jesus instituted among his friends the night before his crucifixion.

Our worship services are joy-filled events where we come together as one family to worship and praise our God through prayer, song, reading the scriptures, and coming together to his table.

St. Mark's is a parish within the Episcopal Diocese of Wisconsin, the Episcopal Church of the United States of America, and the worldwide Anglican Communion. "Episcopal" refers to the fact that we are governed by bishops and "Anglican" means we trace our roots to and are in communion with the historic Church of England and the Archbishop of Canterbury.
